    Why is data sovereignty important?

The US CLOUD Act gives US authorities the right to demand access to data held by US companies, regardless of physical location. A local cloud provider protects you from this.

Is Pilvio subject to CLOUD Act?

No. Pilvio is an Estonian company with Estonian owners. CLOUD Act applies only to US companies and their subsidiaries.

    Which regulations apply?

Pilvio complies with GDPR, E-ITS, DORA, and NIS2 requirements. We are also prepared for the EUCS certification scheme.

    Does Pilvio support data encryption?

Yes, data is encrypted both at rest and in transit. You can also use your own encryption keys for full control.

How does Pilvio differ from hyperscalers in terms of jurisdiction?

AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud are subject to the US CLOUD Act even in EU data centers. Pilvio is subject only to Estonian and EU law, with no foreign jurisdiction risk.
